"Teacher"

Well, if this doesn't warm your heart a little, I don't know what will.
Tonight, after showers, Riley decided to sit down and "teach" Reece a few things.
I didn't catch all of it, but he wanted to teach Reece his vowels, and then Riley wrote a 3 letter word... POP... and asked Reece, "Does this say 'pot'?"
Reece was supposed to find the mistake.

What an awesome BIG brother Reece has!!!

September Birthday Bash!

We got to celebrate birthdays again!
Due to out of town cousins, we only had 2 boys to celebrate on Saturday.
Alex got his Dora and Diego party, for his 3rd birthday...
...and Will got his Star Wars party, for his 7th Birthday.
Our family has become so spoiled, by my sister's extraordinary sugar cookies, a party won't be complete without them. She made 3's and 7's.
12 of the 20 cousins
Alex excited about new movies!
And, a tractor!!
William, opening his gifts.
I was terrible about taking pictures. It was a gorgeous Saturday, and we had tons of fun playing games out there. Thanks for hosting, AGAIN, Joanna!!!

F.Y.I.

The combination of Scottish music and kids clapping, gives my Riley a headache.

McPherson has a big Scottish Festival this weekend. So they had an instrumental trio, come and play a few songs, and the children chimed in with some energetic clapping, giving Riley a headache. What a drama queen! =)

Jake Update

Well, we've returned from another checkup for Jake. Nothing much happening, which is wonderful news.

Now that we don't live close to KUMed, we had to make a trip of it. It was a strange, strange feeling, having so much time, and so little to do. We had to drive up Monday night, Jake had his MRI on Tuesday morning, and then his appointment was Thursday morning. We didn't know what to do with ourselves. We did a little casual shopping, SAW 2 MOVIES, went miniature golfing, and ate WAY too much food. We had so much time on our hands, we really missed the boys.

The MRI of the head looked the same, as it did 6 months ago. The system we are on, alternates his head and spine, so we go back in March to scan everything, then it will be annual checkups, as long as it keeps going this well.

We will be returning before this, for Jake to electively get a large tumor in his leg taken out. No dates set, but this tumor (that we've known about for a long time) is getting bothersome enough, that we really want the Orthopedic doctor to take it out.... not saying she will, but we're pretty sure she won't have a problem removing it.

***

If you haven't noticed.... my blog has become quite boring.

What can I say?

Kids are in school all day... I've gotten a full time job, for the first time in years... I've been working weekends for another part time, and that will continue at least through Halloween... It's InSaNeLy BoRiNg around here.... meaning, we are crazy busy, but with nothing of excitement to report on.

Thanks for checking in!

Black Eye

Riley's 3 year old cousin is not playing nice....
Alex must take after his mom, who gave me stitches long ago!
What are the chances this goes away by Thursday, which is picture day???
Interesting fact: I was in 3rd grade too, when I got my first black eye!

ALL DAY K

We've got a happy kindgergartner on our hands.... he's pretty much this excited, every day to go to school.
Bedtime, may be another story...
