I live for basketball. And I love game days...even when it's 9 and 10 year olds that are still learning the game. Reece hasn't played since kindergarten, but he's playing pretty well and you'd never guess it's been 4 years since he's played organized ball. His team has won their 3 home games, but lost the 2 away games. Their competition is either pretty tough or a little too easy...there is no in between. Reece is starting to ask questions about how the game works. It's been fun and can't wait to see his basketball passion and skills grow.

X-GΔMΣS

We decided to catch some of the X-games again this year...and the weather couldn't have been better.

Last year we went at night, and as amazing as it was, we froze our toes off. ;)

Although I'm not big into crowds, the experience is great. We didn't hang around as long as I would have liked, the kids were impatient and tired of standing around. Glad we found the time to head up to Aspen.

Yes, that's an extra kid. We took Reece's good friend, Luke.

Riley acting as excited as a preteen can act.

Reece finally got his turn on the basketball court. And he's loving it. He is proving to be a pretty good ball handler...however he resists using his left hand. And stopping his dribble to pass the ball is proving to be a challenge in the chaos of 3rd and 4th grade ball as well, but he's learning fast. Can't wait to watch my #1 continue to develop.

This is how Reece patiently waits his turn on the bench. It made me smile. :)

ᗯᖇᗩᑭᑭIᑎG ᑌᑭ 2014

I'm baaaaaack.... Happy New Year!

I was lucky enough to have most of the boys' winter break off of work, so we went to visit my sister and her family to wrap up the year.

It snowed the first entire day there, but we made the most of it. The kids didn't seem to mind...they got creative with technology and made several mini movies on the IPads.

When the snow did finally stop, we went to the Bean Life Science Museum, had a yummy dinner at Art City Trolley, and went bowling.

My sister got me out to do a little shopping...my market is small and there aren't a lot of options in Glenwood, so that was nice. Sadly, we do most of our shopping online. Other than that it was a fairly relaxing time...even when she got me to her yoga class.

Sydney, Riley, Reece and Sami...things got a little competitive between the older cousins, but it was all in fun.

By the time New Year's Eve came around I was so incredibly exhausted I think I could have cried at any moment. Have you ever been that tired??? Jill didn't want this picture posted, but seriously, how many people actually see this? See my tired, ready to cry eyes??

Shenanigans with the kids.... I'm thinking this was only at 7pm, and I could already tell staying up to midnight wasn't an option for me.

Holding back the "tired tears"... FYI, I just don't travel well. I miss my bed.

Thought this would hide my tired eyes...did it work?
Okay...enough about my super tired eyes. :)

Sami and Sydney having their own fun...with my phone.

Riley, Sami, Cole, Sydney, Brendon, and Reece.
Happy New Year!! Ok... this was at 10:00 pm, we celebrated with New York. The kids made it to the Mountain Time, but I made a bee line to bed. I can say I was awake at midnight when the fireworks went off... I sat up, said Happy New Year (to myself) and my head hit the pillow...again...and I was out. The kiddos even struggled staying up...they said the clock turned midnight, they said "Happy New Year," and couldn't get to bed quick enough, as well. Very anticlimactic. ;) We just know how to party!!

That was the end of our 2014... we woke up, had breakfast and went home the next day. It was perfectly planned...the weather was great, roads were clear, and traffic was light. Thanks, Jill, for having us!
