ᗰᗩᖇᗷᒪE, ᑕO

We took the Sunday before Father's Day and made it all about Jake. A hike was needed so we were off to Marble, CO to find the Crystal Mine. Hi, Mt. Sopris!

Well, we found the start of the hike...however, we ended up not having any signal and got stuck when the there was a fork in the road. We didn't want to run around aimlessly, so we turned around. Boo! We still struggle getting clear direction before were run off on our adventures...

We didn't hike long...but the views never disappoint!

Aspen!

To make up for our short hike, we went and ate at a local favorite... Slow Groovin' BBQ.
It's bizarre that it's so popular, and this town is truly hidden. It's a tiny town. When I googled the population, they had a population of 130 people in 2013, and people travel to get some of this BBQ.

So how did Marble, CO get its name???
I'll give you one guess!

I think this one was priced at $65,000

This one was interesting... a very political piece.

Fun fact: The Lincoln Memorial was made with marble from Marble, CO. Thanks to Riley's recent trip DC, we were able to learn this cool bit of info...
Much later on we hit up Kaleidoscoops...a local ice cream shop. It was Jake's choice...we've lived her for nearly 3 years and had never tried it.
Guess who Reece gets his good looks from?? Ha!!

It never stops with him! I have to plead with him to get a decent picture.
Happy Fake Father's Day, Jake!
