Day 4
We left Mitchell on Monday morning and headed west to the Black Hills...with a few stops along the way.
How can you NOT stop at 1880 town!? We were hungry for lunch and had no idea how big of a stop this was going to be. It did not disappoint! |
This was a good laugh! Crazy rabbits! |
Reece is a big fan of rocks. |
A 1950s Train Diner in 1880 Town. It was a confusing time for all. ;) |
Ha! Not a clue who the McNasty Bros. are but I got a good chuckle! |
Off to lunch in the train cars. |
Off to explore! |
FYI...if any of my KC friends are wanting to visit, you are 643 miles away from 1880 Town. |
Busted! |
I told the boys we could afford to live here forever! Lodging per night.....25 cents Eating....25 cents Nice!! |
The Saloon was beautiful! |
Oh, Reece...your face might stay that way! |
Jake spent a lot of summers in South Dakota growing up... he was raised to hate prairie dogs. That's one MASSIVE prairie dog! |
Next stop... The BIG Badlands. |
Thank goodness for selfie sticks! |
We just paid to drive through the park. So crazy to go from prairie land to this! |
FYI. The west begins here. |
We did enjoy the free water that was advertised on one of the billboards. Oh...and had some yummy pie and ice cream as a mid afternoon snack. |
And we finally made it to the Black Hills. |
Got a quick peak at George on our way to our campsite. |
Tent up, time for dinner and some relaxation! |
Picture perfect views from our site. |
We bought some new cards. The boys wanted to play "Spoons" but we forgot the spoons...so we improvised and played "Pinecone" hehe. |
Camping or not...my skin did not get neglected. So easy and a personal priority! |
