Yesterday, Reece and I went to my friend, Jen's house. She has 2 week old, identical twin boys, Lake & Lane. They are such sweet babies. I had so much fun just holding them. Both boys were about 6 pounds 4 ounces. It is so hard to believe that Riley was smaller than that when he was born. Riley weighed in at a whopping 5 pounds 14 ounces. Both boys are very healthy and doing great. I just can't wait to get back to see them. This sleeping stage won't last too much longer. Here is a quick shot I got of Reece and the boys, featuring Reece's killer smile. Just so I remember....Lane is on left, Lake on the right. Thankfully, Lane has a slight birthmark on his head so I can tell them apart. It is bound to go away though.

1st Grade Musical
Thursday, was Riley's 1st grade musical. I think the title was "All About the 3."? It was short, sweet and to the point. To sum it up, they highlighted all storybook characters that were grouped in 3's. Three Little Pigs, Three Blind Mice, Three Billy Goats, etc. However, the 3rd Little Bear from Goldilocks tale, was missing. We got to hear lovely melodies until she was found. It was so cute!
My creative juices weren't flowing when I had to figure out a storybook character. Thanks to Riley's cousin, Aidan, I was able to make him a pirate. Aidan has a great "Jack Sparrow" costume. There are pirates in Peter Pan, so it all worked out well. He was a great pirate and he did a great job singing. 2 years ago he would barely move his mouth, if he was in front of a large crowd. Now, he is a wonderful participant, and we are very proud of him.

Pajama Day with Owen
Jody came up with Owen for the weekend. I am lucky enough to be watching him today. It is so cold outside, we have no plans to get out, so we are having a pajama day! This is the longest I've been around a 5 month old for a while. How you forget.... He has been so good, and is such a happy boy. He even took a long nap for me, so I could watch the KU game in it's entirety. Thanks Owen!

Trustworthy
Yesterday, I got an awesome story sent to me from Riley's teacher, Mrs. Simmons. Last Friday, the class had "counselor time." The lesson for the day, was about being trustworthy. At the end of the lesson, the class raised their hand to say who they thought was the most "trustworthy" student in the class. She said, almost all of them said Riley! HOW COOL! A little tear came to my eye when I read that. I just think the world of Riley's teacher, and she is about to be a first time mom herself. She just said, she would've wanted to know this little story herself, if it was her child. I love Riley! He is the sweetest soul! I couldn't be more proud! Things like this, really make me feel like I did something, very right.

I LOVE MY BOYS!!!
Here I am, ill and bed-ridden. It came on suddenly, this evening and I have been pretty useless since. Jake is unfortunately at work, and I have 2 boys that I was lucky to get dinner on the table for. What do I do? No worries. I have the 2 best boys ever. In 15 minutes, they conquered the bedtime routine without me. Their teeth may not have been cleaned as well as I would've done, but it's just 1 night. Lastly, Riley came in my room to say, "I hope you feel better." He then told Reece to come say, "Goodnight." I could not have been luckier, when I got these 2 boys, and I rarely forget it.
On another note, I sincerely apologize to Jake, for the disaster I left in the kitchen. I was sick!
