Hmmm....suddenly my photos are very grainy on here, and I can't figure out why. That's disappointing.
We were a part of our 3rd All School's Day celebration. I still don't love the big fuss, but it's a paid holiday for me, so I won't complain too much.
This year both boys were in parade this year. Riley walked with the 5th grade D.A.R.E. graduates and Reece with the Striker soccer players. Riley also got invited to be part of a Madathon team. It is a 5th grade event, where teams go through silly obstacles. No brains needed! ;)

Here is Riley's team at practice. You never know what events will be given, so they just got together to practice tossing water balloons, balance golf balls (pretend eggs) on spoons and run, frog jump and obviously building a pyramid. |

My boys before the parade. |

We had sand artists come and sculpt a a one room school house. I forgot to mention this was the big 100 year celebration and All School's Day stems from the one room school house days. I wish my picture looked better. It was amazing seeing what people can do with sand. |

Dropping Riley off with the DARE kids. |

After the parade... one happy Riley! He found his long lost friend, Terry! |

Madathon time. First event was tossing balloons over the net, trying to get the other team wet. |
|
Next event was a shoe ski race. 4 kids got in skis with 4 shoes attached. They had to work as a team to get to the other side, where 4 other team members were waiting to race to the end. Riley did amazing leading his team. His team won that event! |

Riley in the lead! |

The 3rd event was messier. One team member had to throw a koolaid filled balloon to another member, then they put it in a bowl where someone had to bite the balloon open, another kid had to suck up the koolaid with a straw and spit it in the last team member's hands, who then had to race the koolaid back to the start where a bucket was waiting to collect it. JC is wiping his sticky hands on Riley here. |
|
The last obstacle course was even crazier. It had a human wheelbarrow to start, followed by tossing a softball into a backless toilet bowl, then a HUGE waterballoon had to be smashed with out using hands, an entire can of whip cream had to be emptied onto a plate, which got smashed into the coach's face, who was also holding a 2 liter of Diet Coke which a kid put a stack of Mentos in to create a foaming volcano that went all over the team, and lastly they got to slide on this tarp covered in water and baby shampoo. That was the finale....2.5 hours later! |
|
A picture of some of the teams. There were 18 in total! |

Riley is a pro at avoiding "dirty". But he still wanted a shower right away! They're team name was the "Numerators." Because numerators are on top! He chose his nickname, and it was CHEESYHEAD. |
|
Then we made it to the carnival. We went on the last night. It's bracelet night, which means you pay one price and get to ride as many times as you want. Also, by the last night, McPherson is burned out on ASD activities, so the crowd is small. No lines is wonderful! |

Just barely got Riley! |
|
Oh... it's too blurry. They are WAY up high, and the only ones on the Rampage. Reece wanted to go, and I pressured Riley into trying. He had mixed thoughts about it. |

Potato sack slide. |
|
And the swings.... I pushed both of them to get on this one. They both ended up loving it. |
And that wraps up another All School's Day. (ASD)
Just a sign that summer break is SUPER close!
