"Be Fluffy"

Reece brought out his artistic side while Jake is trying to take on a new motto... As an HR manager, Jake has been told he needs to word advice a little less harsh, so he doesn't scare all the employees away. "Be Fluffy" are the words his boss used to address the issue. Reece refused to lend Jake his "Mr. Fluffy Bear" as a reminder in his office, so Reece drew a picture for Jake, and now he has a constant reminder to "Be Fluffy!"

Reece ended his fall soccer season on an amazingly beautiful day with a wonderful scenic view. They ended 8 wins to 1 loss... Reece didn't score this day, but played his best ball so far and had several great looks at the goal. Can't wait for next season!

Ghost Tour

We hiked up to the Pioneer Cemetery on a beautiful Friday night to be a part of a "Ghost Tour." It was a neat experience... the most famous "ghost" that always makes an appearance is Doc Holliday. Rumor has it he was not laid to rest where his headstone is, because they worry about people disturbing his grave. There were 5 other "ghosts" that appeared to us and it was a fun history lesson of Glenwood Springs. I'm excited to do this hike in the daylight. 

Afterwards we were given hot apple cider and cookies... we also purchased a cute lantern, but a big gust blew it out on our way up the mountain. Thankfully we brought our flashlights.

Arbaney Kittle Trail

The way I figure it, there are a million+ views of Mt. Sopris and each of them spectacular. Some girlfriends and I went on this trail to see the very snowy top of Sopris. It's such a prominent mountain in this area, and it just looks important. It's also a huge water source for this area. You will see snow on it until June or July. Either way, we love our Mt. Sopris.

The Lazy Man's Hike

A couple of weeks ago we headed out to find the Deep Creek Trail... it was a random trail I chose from the trail map we have, and we never found it. Instead we headed up a curvy narrow path on a mountain in Dotsero, CO, that was close to Deep Creek Ranch and we can now say the car did all the hiking for us. It gave us a chance to test our AWD vehicle for the first time. We found a few photo ops and when we got to the top we had an distant view of Mt. Sopris and the Maroon Bells.

Future Skiers...

It's a process getting ready for ski season when you are starting from scratch... but we are on our way. I have the boys signed up for ski school... 6 Saturdays starting February 1st, where they will have great instructors teaching them on an easy course in Buttermilk (close to Aspen and SnowMass). I'm a so excited and nervous all at the same time. I just hope the boys enjoy it!
