Moving

We had a final family dinner in Wichita and Grandma and Grandpa Beggs gave the boys a gift to open when we got to Glenwood Springs.
Reece had one last slumber party with his McPherson friends, Noah and Nicholas... adorable Hadley wanted to join the fun.

Riley also had a sleepover at his friend, Jackson's, house. He had a busy week in KC and followed it with a busy weekend with friends, so he was a bit exhausted. I feel the same right now...

The boys from when we moved the the MAC and when we left the MAC... 3 years of memories!

Moving truck arrived late, but it arrived! IT WAS HUGE!!

Riley keep preoccupied while the movers worked their magic.

One last picture in front of our the house!

We stopped in Denver for a day, Jake had a meeting on Thursday, so we took advantage. We met my cousin, Katie, who had just moved to Golden. We ate at a delicious Pizza place.

We got to walk downtown and down by the river in Golden. It was gorgeous weather and gorgeous scenery!

While dad was at his meeting, the boys and I went to IKEA... enjoyed it, but would have enjoyed it more if I had money to spend! We found these carrot pillows that reminded us of Aunt Jaime... only because she owns one!

Ugh! We got stopped in Vail.... for 45 minutes because a trucker's brakes caught fire. There were more people outside of their cars ,while waiting, than inside their cars.

We made it! The boys got to open their gift! It was a large box of  Nesquik Strawberry mix and chocolate mix... this is always the treat when they visit my parents. And to highlight how opposite my boys are, they each request their own special flavor. My dad is such a softy and is always ready for those chocolate/strawberry milk orders for the boys. They were pretty excited! Reece hugged his flavor!

Our first meal was at 19th Street Diner.

Officially back in the Canyon... as residents.

Roughing it on the living room floor, our furniture came the next morning.

Our first decoration at the condo... representing from the mountains.

HOLY BOX OVERLOAD!! Well, it kept the boys entertained! I found a Jayhawk ball that Reece tried to throw away... well his punishment was for me to write something special on his box he had been playing in.

Riley put his own spin on the box when he got in it!
Our view from the back patio. Directly past those trees is the Roaring Fork River. It's beautiful!

So serious!! On Saturday, we took a break from unpacking and went to Carbondale to the Mountain Fair. Carbondale is an "artsy" sort of town. Very cute and very "granola." Well, the boys weren't too excited about spending time at an art festival, until we found these cool bow and arrow toys... foam arrows, thankfully. They are a hit.

Well, this officially catches me up. I feel guilty for taking this time to blog, as I am surrounded in boxes, but what a relief to have one thing completely caught up! Now to continue the unpacking...

Trip to KC

With 7 days left, we drove up to KC to see family and friends. We stayed with Aunt Jaime and fell in love with her new kitten too... the sister of Aunt Joanna's kitten. We hung out and went swimming with the Klootwyks (Scott and Brynn). Riley got to spend the night with Scott, and really enjoyed himself. We went to see Turbo and I took Reece to Deanna Rose Farmstead with the Ringels (Tyler, Logan and Zakk). We saw a couple other movies, Despicable Me 2 and Monsters University. Finally, we spent the night at cousins, Colby and Camryn, to say so long. The best part was coming home to see an official SOLD sign in our yard. All thanks to the inspection going smooth!

Found this blast from the past at Aunt Jaime's... siblings in the 90s.

Farewell Lunch with Coworkers

With nine days before the big move, the best coworkers and I went to Tres Amigos for some yummy lunch to say goodbye. Cindy and I HAD to wear some KU blue for a picture before I left.
You can take the Jayhawk out of Kansas... but she'll always be a Jayhawk! For life!! Rock Chalk!!
