Sea Life

Kansas City's Crown Center has a couple new attractions.... Sea Life and Legoland. Friday we headed that way, and since my boys are complete opposites, we had to do both.
First off we ate lunch at Fritz's then we tackled Reece's first choice, Sea Life. They both enjoyed it, Reece loved the creatures and Riley loved reading all the facts about the creatures. We got to hold a starfish and when it got flipped over, we got to watch it slowly flip back over and suction to the rock it was on. Very cool! Jake and I enjoyed it just as much! Again, pictures will be all over the place, but enjoy.

Jake's Checkup

We checked out of GWL on Thursday. Reece was less than thrilled about this, but fun must end eventually.
We went straight to get results from Dr. Pollack in the brand new neurosurgery department at KUMed. It was gorgeous!! Jake's scans all looked the same, except one tumor on his lower spine. It was just slightly more plump than a year ago. Nothing to worry about yet, but she will want to rescan in a year, and the other scans can wait 18 months. As long as our visits aren't getting closer together I'm a happy camper. Jake isn't as thrilled, and I support that. They aren't growing in me, so I can't decide how he should feel for him.
We may see his orthopedic surgeon sooner though. Jake is having pain in his left leg, where he has had multiple tumors taken out. We will see.
Here is a classic Reece picture, bored in the waiting room. We hadn't been there for very long either. Also, on Wednesday we slipped off to Gardner to see our dear friends and did some more swimming. It was a good week! Thanks for hosting, Jill! And for the impromptu dinner. It was so kind if you!!

Great Wolf Lodge

Last Monday we set out for our vacation to KC. Miraculously, Riley woke up that morning with zero fever. As the day went on he had shown some signs of just battling the tail end of whatever sickness he was fighting over the weekend, but a little Tylenol did the trick and he was back to normal by the end of the day.
We surprised them with our first visit to Great Wolf Lodge and they loved it. We planned it this way so the boys and I would have something to keep us busy while Jake was back and forth having MRIs at KUMed. It was perfect and along with swimming the boys got to go on quests with magical wands on the top two floors of the hotel. It helped break up the swimming. They both loved it all and want to go back. We checked out Thursday which made for a slightly grumpy Reece.
I almost forgot we treated them to TREX Cafe before we surprised them with GWL. Here are pics in no particular order, courteous of my phone I don't know how to use.

Murphy's Law

Well, just hours before the longest vacation Jake has ever taken, Riley came down with a fever. Luckily we won't be leaving for KC until Monday, so we have a couple days to baby this. I haven't lost all hope, but a napping kid in this house is never a good thing.
