Hanging Lake

The second full day G & G were here, we went hiking up Hanging Lake. It's considered a level: hard trail. It's one narrow trail to hike up and down, so you have to stop and be considerate often. But going up, you get so winded, you are very happy to stop for the downward traffic. You only travel 1.2 miles, but it's a steep 1.2 miles. Once on top, the view is amazing! Well worth all the work! We plan on doing it again when my sisters come visit in a couple weeks.

Reece seemed to be the more adventurous one... therefore, he was in most of the pictures. He would climb every rock just for a new picture to be snapped.

More Rafting

(Beware of plenty of scary faces ahead)
Grandpa McMillan and Grandma Sally came to visit, and they were very anxious to get on the river. So here are some great shots. Check out our guide, Raul's, mustache. He did a fundraiser the day before for leukemia... the other guides looked just as funny!

I have to laugh at how serious Riley looks in every picture... then there is me. Jake always comments on how I look the happiest on the river. :D

New Path

Well, we settled in and after a few days we found out just how close we live to a great path down by the Roaring Forks River. So, Jake went and got the boy's bikes out of storage and it's been a daily adventure. The boys usually ride down and I will get my run in. Running in the mountains is a bit different... thankfully the path is pretty level but the oxygen levels are a big shock. I've learned I just have to pace myself a bit slower, with hopes I can push later.

Running next to this everyday hasn't gotten old.

This is the boys favorite spot. They throw a lot of rocks in the river and Reece will put his feet in. Somedays there is a raft, kayak, some fisherman or tubers going by.

A random flower by my trail... it was beautiful!

You have to look close here... the sun is blaring down while we get a nice shower. This happens every few days and it's so cool to see.
