Recently, my Mom was cleaning out some house clutter, when she came across many priceless items. One of these items, was my 4th grade journal I had to write to my teacher, Mrs. Leep. My teacher would give us a starter and we would go from there. I've read through these journal entries several times, and each time I end up laughing so hard that I've began crying. One thing I learned is I either REALLY loved Mrs. Leep as a teacher, or maybe I was a slight suck up. Who knows, it's funny either way. I wish I could post all of them, but you wouldn't find it as humorous as I do, but here are a few that I really like. Enjoy!

Dear Mrs. Leep,
To be popular means mostly having alot of friends. But I'm not very popular and I have many friends. Just like the saying "To have friends you have to be one."...
Who says that? I don't know, but it sure is wise for a 4th grader. Don't you think?
9/26/91
Dear Mrs. Leep,
What I like about myself is I know how to play the piano. And I have lots of nice friends.
I missed you on Thursday. Mrs. May was nice. She got a flat tire so she got here at 8:40 in the morning.
Sincerely,
Jacque
FYI: I've never known how to play the piano. I guess I could play "chopsticks" so I'm not a total liar. Maybe I'm a tattle tale too. I told on the substitute teacher. Hmmm....what was going through my mind on this entry?
4/15/92
Dear Mrs. Leep,
Next year I want a nice teacher like you. I've never had a mean teacher, but sometimes I get mad at the teacher. I think the key to having a nice teacher is to be good, and do your best.
Once again, I must have been a very wise 4th grader!
Oh, maybe I'll post more another time. I got a good laugh, and hope you did too.

Aunt Jill
On Saturday, we made a quick, one day trip to Wichita. My sister Jill, who we never really know when we'll see next, came into town for the weekend. She was here for her 20 year high school reunion. We sisters, had so much fun taking her shopping for her new outfit. Doesn't she look great? She has 4 kids back at home, and you would never know it. I snapped a picture of her and the boys, because there are few times she'll be able to make it on my blog, since she lives too far away. Can't wait to see you next time. Hopefully, it's not too long.

Whack-A-Mole!
That's what happened to Riley today! He had this monster removed this afternoon. I won't show the after picture. Thankfully, no stitches. It was quick and almost painless. A half tear was shed, and when Riley realized it was numb and he didn't feel anything, he began laughing. Good news is, it will just scab over and be history!

"I Know"
Is officially, my least favorite phrase at the moment. It's the only thing Reece says. Anything you tell the boy, it is followed by, "I know!" Usually, with a little 4 year old attitude added. Even funnier, he could ask me a question, and when I give him the answer, it's, "I know!" It's the amazing Reece! He knows all! Maybe I should ask him for the winning lottery numbers...
Happy 6th Birthday William!!
Happy Birthday to my most DRAMATIC nephew! It's always a pleasure holding a conversation with this boy! =D We Love You Will!

Digits
Riley came home with his first digits today.
His "girlfriend" (we'll call her "A") gave him, her number. Riley said, "it's if I can go to her house for a play date."
Too bad it's only 9 digits. He has 10 tries to get it right, I guess.
"A" has been a girl he's been sweet on since last year. I've blogged about her before. At "Meet the Teacher" night, she ran up to Riley and gave him a huge hug, with a huge grin on her face. It made Riley's day!
Quarterly Birthdays
This weekend we were off to Wichita to celebrate the 3rd quarter birthdays!
We cooked out and had fun! My sister bought this cool inflatable. The cool thing about this one, is it can be used with or without water!!

MJ Tribute
Today, at 5:30 p.m. Michael Jordan will be inducted in to the Hall of Fame! I figured since, most of my best childhood memories involve me watching Air Jordan on the television, I should pay tribute to him. The one and only thing I ever really wanted, was to be able to see his greatness in person. I've always wanted to go to Chicago, just to be in the city that he was so great in! Someday, I will make it there. Until then, I can just be so happy I was old enough to appreciate all he did for the wonderful sport of basketball. A huge part of me is sad my boys will never be able to witness this. Thankfully, they have his biggest fan as a mom, and I will help them appreciate #23! (How do you not love his smile?! ;-D)
And to finish things off, my absolute FAVORITE MJ commercial...
Okay, so I thought I was being clever and I prepared this blog a couple days early, saved it as a draft, and then posted it today. This blew up in my face. MJ actual induction date was 9/11/09.
The Joys of the Bus Stop
Or, not! We have the pleasure of having the bus stop in our driveway. Last year was the first year the this began, and it's been unbearable since. It started out on the corner, where our Stop sign is. Then it gradually moved onto our driveway. It's not just a nice line, that forms at the end of our driveway, it is a group of 5-8 loud and obnoxious kids that have taken over our driveway.
Last year, I yelled at them for hanging on our basketball goal, and for just being SO loud at such an early hour. Eventually, I was able to tolerate the noise, because I was fearing that I was the "old grumpy lady on the corner." The real issue is, these kids gather 20 minutes early. Everyday, they are outside by 7:20 and the bus arrives at 7:40. This is where they find the time to be so obnoxious!
What people don't understand is, Jake's schedule is very sporadic. Some days he closes and others he opens. When he closes, he won't get to bed until after midnight. Therefore, he isn't too excited to wake up that early in the morning, but the kids decide this for him. We have also had some great weather, and our windows have been open for a couple of weeks. Whether our windows are open or closed, these kids are still way too loud. The open windows just add to it.
If it is really cold or rainy, they gather up by our garage door. Our bedroom windows are right above the garage. We hear everything and it stinks! I'm also worried a boy is being "border line" bullied out there. One of the quieter boys, is constantly getting a backpack full of heavy books, thrown at him. I think he dodges it, but I've seen these backpacks thrown around often.
Why am I just now being pushed over the edge?? Today, they decided to throw a ton of cookies into the drain in the street. What's the big deal? A lot of these cookies remained in our driveway, all crumbled up, and wet from the rain, after the bus took them to school. How are kids so disrespectful?? I'm sure if any of them had the bus stop in their driveway, cookies wouldn't have been left around.
I had had it, and I had no idea what to do. I went to talk to one of the neighbor moms, who has a daughter that rides the bus. She is the only parent I know. I asked her if she had any idea what I could do. She gave me the number of who I should contact. When I called, they didn't seem to care at all about my complaints. They said the sidewalk was public property, and I had no say in where the bus stop should or should not be. When I told her they were all over my driveway, she still didn't really care, but said she would contact the bus driver, and the driver could talk to the kids. That's all I get? Seriously?? Ugh!!! My kids will never be bus riders, and it's not fair for them to gather in my driveway!

First Day of Preschool For Reece
The day has finally arrived!!!
Reece is in Preschool!!!
Reece is so lucky to have his cousin, Brevin, in his class!
Getting all the wiggles out before school starts!
Jake said he was "sad" Reece was in preschool. I'm not sad at all!!! I'm so excited for this! Is that a bad thing?

Reece has been high maintenance from day one, and if there is one thing Reece needs and is good at, it's interacting with classmates. He needs school and will do very well at school.
He is my baby, and I love him very much, but he will always be my baby no matter how big he gets! I will also love him unconditionally too!

Shoutout!
To my MOM!! She is officially a texter. =D
Way to go Mom! Now you get to interact with your favorite daughters in a brand new way! And a shoutout to Jaime for helping show Mom how fun texting is.
Keep up the great work!
Birthday Fun at Tyler's
Yesterday, we got to go to our friend, Tyler's birthday party. She had a great blow-up pool with slide. Even though it was in the 70's, the kids didn't mind at all. Shortly after Reece got in the pool, he declared,"This IS the best party ever!!!" =D
