Wax Museum

Riley wrote a biography on Babe Ruth, and his class held a wax museum to share them. He did such a great job! He was nervous and the classroom felt more like a sauna, but he did very well!

Thankfully, Jake's boss has his kiddos obsessed with baseball, so we were able to borrow some pants (that went well with Boston Red Sox colors), and we borrowed their wooden bat. Then Riley played T-ball in Kindergarten and we still had his Yankees uniform, and Mr. K let him borrow his Boston Red Sox hat..... it all came together well. The picture doesn't show it well, but there is, indeed, a pillow stuffed in his shirt to show off Babe's gut! =)

~Birthdays~

Last weekend, we celebrated by nieces, Camryn and Sydney's, and my nephews, Colby, Cole and Brendon's Birthdays.... 3 of them live too far to join our celebration, so we celebrated my brother's kids (Colby and Camryn) day with a trip to Exploration Place and treats galore!

I tried taking pictures of the birthday kiddos, but they were less than thrilled to have to pose.... they are getting older too fast!

The Specialist

Well.... Riley went to the specialist in Wichita yesterday. Dr. Whitler didn't do anything other than a typical office exam.

I called on Monday to ask the nurse if they still wanted to see Riley. I told them he had been acting normal, I believed his fever broke, but he still looked pale and glassy eyed. She said Doc still wanted to see him.

Tuesday, Riley came home with a 99.9* fever from school..... nothing too alarming, but not normal. This reassured me, that maybe he really needed to be seen. His fever had a pattern of breaking for several days, and then it crept up for a bit.

The Dr. wasn't really alarmed. Riley didn't have a fever in the office. He gave us the option to do more labs.... I decided that if the Dr. wasn't alarmed then it wouldn't be worth it. He just said to bring him back for several tests if this pattern keeps up for a couple more weeks.

Hopefully, we are over the hump....34 days later.....

It's hard to see.... his clothes are mostly backwards, and he has shorts on over thermal underwear! Then we have the headband.... and I tried to do something crazy with his hair, but that would have been over the top for Reece!! =)

"A Taste of Music"

Monday night, Riley had his music program. It was called "A Taste of Music," and it featured songs mostly about food. They were pretty cute! Riley has terrible stage fright!! He is like his Mom.... doesn't like to be in front of a lot of people.

Riley got a recorder part in the program, and he did very well! I was super impressed! Instruments were never my thing.... I could kind of sing, but play instruments? Not so much!

On a sad note.... I was so frustrated with the audience we were sitting with. They were so incredibly noisy and rude! At one point, Mrs. Flaming had to ask us to be quiet!! (When I say "us" it was obviously "them!") I was so embarrassed! Even after she asked, the crowd continued! It was just so disrespectful to her and the kiddos! I was a little ashamed by the end of the night. When I told the ladies I work with about my experience, they weren't surprised.... I think it's an image that the parents from this particular school have received. Sad!! Guess we all can't be just a little classy.....
