Saturday was our final day in KC. We woke up early and went to Gladstone, MO for the 4th annual Great Steps for NF walk (Neurofibromatosis). It's a pretty small event, as very few people really know about the disorder. It's so small that just over $22,000 was raised by this walk, but you can't be disappointed. Next year Jake and I will have to work on some fundraising.
My lovely sister, Jaime, kindly woke up early on her Saturday she had off to walk, and my wonderful sister in law, Kaitlin, brought Colby and Camryn to the walk. It wasn't a long walk, and there was minimal whining from the kids, so we all survived. We walked, snacked on yummy food afterwards, and went back to my brother's to pack up and hit the road.
Reece and Reese (Kaitlin's dog) were a bit sad we had to leave, but the car ride home proved Reece had had enough, and I caught on camera that Reece actually does wear out.....eventually.
Yay for a jam packed vacation and coming home is the best and worst of it all. It's wonderful to sleep in your own bed (and I actually slept 10 hours in mine) but you have that dreaded laundry and reality to face. Can't wait to get away again!! (PS....there are many posts about our vacation. You'll know you are done when you reach "The Great Wolf Lodge" post! ;)
