FLOR

I'm so, so, so, SO excited!!!
My Flor rugs came in today.
These are square tiles that will be an area rug under my dining room table, and the inspiration for the colors we chose in our house!!
Raisin, Brick (dining room color), Butter, and Breeze (living room color.)
We have 1 more wall to spackle and sand before I can get them put together...
Can't wait!!

Entry

My living room is so large, and it's been hard living here while we've been decorating each room, so we are doing it in sections. We started with the entry way, because after we bought the house this piece of furniture jumped out at me from Nebraska Furniture Mart.... it was meant for this house!

The awesome wallpaper that covers the living room.
Thankfully, it's coming off easier than any other wallpaper I've removed, and this is last room covered in it!
After!!
The color we put on these walls was Wythe Blue.

Bragging Time

While going through my camera, trying to find before and after pictures of my new home, I came across of just a couple amazing projects my very talented sister, Jody, has done in her house.
The first is my nephew's room.
It's a pirate themed room, all done by Jody.

In her huge family room in her basement, she created this chalkboard to play on.
LoVeLy!!
I could photograph her entire house and it would look like it came right out of a magazine. I love spending time in her home and I'm so lucky she is going to be able to help decorate my new house!

Life Of Riley

Had a few funnies to share of Riley...

Weeks ago, when I was stripping wallpaper off the dining room walls, and Riley was being so sweet to sweep it up for me, he was humming. I mistook his humming for talking, and had asked what he said... "Oh, nothing. I'm just missing my girlfriend!"

It was so adorable. I asked if he wanted to write her, and he said no. That's the last I heard him speak of Megan. It wasn't long after that, that he decided to pump some iron to get a new girlfriend.

The next funny happened the day he learned how to ride his bike. We went out for Mexican, and Jake asked what made Riley want to ride his bike. The reason he asked was, it was just days before, Riley told us he didn't care about the bike, and didn't want to ride it. He's been saying this since we took the training wheels off a year ago. Riley's response was, " I got tired of standing on my scooter, and wanted to sit down."

Oh, so typical of Riley. He will find anyway to not release too much energy. It also helped that the 10 year old next door got him more inspired than we ever could, or Riley wanted to fit in better....

Dining Room

I totally went a little picture happy here, but this is what I've been working on for 3 weeks, 6 days.... which sounds way better than 4 weeks!
BEFORE

After 8 days of wall paper removal...

DRUM ROLL PLEASE...

Sorry, I went REALLY picture happy.
We put Boston Brick on the walls with wainscoting.
The dining room table was our housewarming gift to ourselves. =)
We have a ton of accessorizing to do, and we have our eye on the perfect chandelier for this room. Tonight, we are having our first family dinner at the table in 4 weeks!

Boys Bedroom

Once again, I found myself without any great "before" pictures, but this room was a dark, midnight blue, with a strange green on the doors and windows. The only thing I need to do, is paint the doors...

AFTER

All we did was paint the walls Peach Tea, which is what we did it in Gardner.... it complements their furniture well...

Bathroom Revealed

Finally, another room that is 97% finished!!
It's been quite an adjustment going from 2 baths, down to 1, but overall, we're doing well!
BEFORE

AFTER
(It's a small space, so it was so hard getting good angles for pictures)

We put Creamy Oat paint on the walls, used our existing shower curtain and decor to cut down on cost, made a new mirror, added some storage from Target, added a new light fixture, painted the trim and vanity white, put a normal sized toilet in....
The sink below, unfortunately needs to stay a little longer. We must pace ourselves, but I'm counting down the days to replace it. I also need to get new curtains!

1st Lost Tooth

Reece lost his first tooth on Saturday!
He pulled it out himself, and kind of panicked, until Dad showed how excited he was!
Oops! The toothfairy wasn't prepared, and didn't have change for a $5.00...
Hope Reece doesn't expect this everytime!

Birthday Festivities

Riley's day started out with a blast!
(please excuse the house under construction in background)
We sent him on a scavenger hunt for his presents.
I made clues, and he found all of them.
All he asked for was "real" Star Wars Legos and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
So, the kid wasn't disappointed!
We went to Wichita, to enjoy Toy Story 3, 3D in style, at the Warren Theaters.
Thanks to Grandma, Aunt Joanna, and cousins, Hannah, Will, Jack, Alex and Aidan for coming!
Riley got to choose where to eat lunch.
He toyed with our emotions and at first suggested Mexican,
then he changed his mind and wanted Burger King....
Oh, yay!
=/
I'm 8!!!!
We had planned on getting a Dairy Queen ice cream cake,
but, with Father's Day they were out, so we got this cake.... and went to share it with Grandma and Grandpa.
So, on Father's Day, we made it up with an ice cream cake.
I don't think Jake was sad about that....
Happy Birthday Buddy!
