Driving to Colorado

These are a little out of order, but this is our first day on the road to Colorado.
Reece didn't think Colorado was that "colorful".... "Look at all the gray skies!" We had rain and cloud cover during most of the first half of our trip.

Just past Denver, we stopped to switch drivers and stretch our legs. I didn't feel super comfortable in the mountains, so Jake took over.

Riley glued to video games and Reece sticking his stinky feet in my face... typical LONG road trip.

The boys LOVED the tunnels! Crazy driving through the mountains!

This is how our trip started off... A rainbow is a sure sign we are about to have an amazing time!

Before we got far, we drove through a windmill farm... it was eerie and cool all at the same time. It was 30 minutes of scenery... and there were a TON! I've tried looking up at how many there are, but can't find it. It seemed like hundreds!

A rare nap...

Mountains, and valleys, and canyons... oh, my!
Almost 10 hours later... we made it to our destination.

Checking in to our hotel.

I spy a Lowes on our way to dinner... what a back ground.

For 'going green' at our hotel... aka not needing new towels and sheets every day... we got a $15 credit to eat at Glenwood Canyon Brewpub. They brew their own root beer! It was AWESOME!! What a great way to try something new.

Our final destination...
the rest of the evening the boys swam in the indoor water park... it was just a slightly oversized hotel pool with a big slide and a splash area for the little ones. Reece was in it several times a day. Riley enjoyed it, but not as often as  Reece!
